Ramallah, Aug 19 (BNA) -- Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, today received, at the Presidential Headquarters in Ramallah, the delegation of the Royal Charity Organization (RCO), led by Secretary-General Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed and the delegation of Friends of Quids Committee, in the presence of Chairman of the Palestinian Presidential Office, Hussein Al-A'araj, and the Palestinian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Taha Mohammed Abdul-Qadir.

President Abbas praised the efforts of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in supporting the Palestinian cause at political, humanitarian and development levels, and the development projects carried out by the Kingdom of Bahrain for the Palestinian people in Palestine, which confirm the great interest delivered by the Kingdom of Bahrain, represented by HM the King and Bahrain's wise government, led by HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister, and the support of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, First Deputy Premier, and the people of Bahrain.

He hailed the efforts of the Royal Charity Organization, led by Chairman of the Board of Trustees Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in providing charitable and humanitarian aids for countries and people affected in various humanitarian conditions.

He also reviewed the latest developments of the peace process and the resumption of the negotiations leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian State with Jerusalem as its capital on the 1967 borders, and underscored the importance of the Arab delegation visits that contribute to the support of the Palestinian people.

On his part, Dr. Al-Sayed conveyed the greetings of HM the King and the wise leadership to President Mahmoud Abbas and the brotherly Palestinian people, and stressed this solidarity visit confirms the supporting stance of the Kingdom of Bahrain's leadership, government and people towards the just Palestinian cause, and praised the Palestinian steadfastness, and expressed sincere pride to visit the blessed land of Palestine.

Dr. Al-Sayed reviewed the RCO's implemented development and relief projects in health, education and culture areas, and added in line with HM the King's directives and the patronage of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the RCA and UNDP will sign a protocol to build Bahraini cultural center and library in the occupied Jerusalem aiming to contribute to the preservation of Arab cultural identity in Jerusalem.

Other development projects implemented for the Palestinians in Gaza, including building the Kingdom of Bahrain school in Tel al-Hawa, the Kingdom of Bahrain health center in Khan-Younis and Bahrain Public Library in Fakhura school, as well as 1200 physically handicapped have received prosthetic operations and professional and psychological rehabilitation services, as well as equipping science laboratories at the Islamic University in Gaza, in addition to other relief and humanitarian projects.
